Last winter break, we had a trip to Florida. We went by a big vehicle that has a big TV, many lights, and seats which could turn to be a bed. Isn’t it so cool? It’d be cooler if there was a restroom in it. Oh well, forget it..
We left at 4 am. I know that was so early but we had to. We wanted to see the view in the afternoon. At 8 am we’re stuck on the road. Traffic was crazy, we couldn’t move. That was my first time having that kinda traffic in the USA. It just looked exactly like Indonesia. WOW! We went through 5 states: Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida.
I like it when we’re going on the mountain in Tennessee and Georgia. The view was so beautiful and organized. Yeah, that’s America. I spent time by taking pictures and videos. Every time we entered the next state, my host parents always told us. Then whaat?! Pictures! I tried to get “Welcome to Kentucky” or whatever it says for each state. We’re watching lots of movies, singing, and eating.

We got to Florida at midnight around 12 pm. It took us about 20 hours. Tired? Yes. Happy? Definitely!

The next day we went down to the beach. The weather felt just like in Indonesia; warm and sunny. I loved Florida.. I enjoyed playing with the water and made a video clip for my album. No, I’m kidding! Hahahaha. The apartment that we stayed at was big enough. We have stayed for a week. So
I started to feel like home and didn’t want to go home, literally. It’s because we did many fun things together like we had the best ice cream twice, eating very delicious seafood, playing football, collecting shells, etc. Grandma and grandpa were collecting shells the most cause they have been there for a month. They found beautiful ones. We got to bring them home. Hurray! I was extremely happy cause I had shells from Florida.

The next 2 days were Christmas Day. We’re having Sand Christmas not White Christmas. It’s supposed to be Christmas Day with snow, but we had it with sand because we’re at the beach. On Christmas Eve we watched the Polar Express. I kept watching the website showing where Santa was. That’s fun even though I know Santa isn’t true. Before went to bed, we wrote a letter to Santa. Here is my letter!
“Hi, Santa! How are you doing? What do you give me for Christmas present? Can you give a castle with a handsome prince and live happily? I’m glad you’re still alive. How is the reindeer? Can you take me to the North Pole, please???”
Then we opened presents in the morning. We got presents from Grandma+Grandpa and Santa. They’re so nice, they still got me and Meriem presents after the big present we got. We got a reply from Santa. He said he couldn’t take me to the North Pole because it’s too cold for me. I’m sure that Grandpa wrote it. Hahahaha.
Another fun thing we did was the Dolphin Tour by boat. We saw a bunch of dolphins and we got to see the baby ones. They’re so cute! Last morning before we left, we walked down the beach and were some dolphins very close to us. That’s unusual! I think they wanted to say Goodbye to us. I bet they knew there were me and Meriem who are from different parts of the world. Thank you, Dolphins. I’m gonna miss you so much..and Florida as well.
